This tightly twisted wool yarn was originally processed for Needlepointing. It starts with 2 3-ply yarns that are plied together, making a 6 ply yarn. It is a wonderful knitting yarn as well as weaving - goes great on a triangle loom.
We have lots of colors and the lighter colors are great for overdyeing or for your own version of hand paint yarn. I have taken 6 of these yarn skeins and plied together to make a thick soft yarn approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. Beautiful stuff for knitting thick scarves, afghans, etc.
